A Privilege and a Miracle

Newton's first law of motion states that an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it. What are the odds of anything traveling unidirectionally, unending without coming in contact with another object? My guess is zero! Even in the sky, colliding with a bird or cloud is almost inevitable.

A linear life is desirable but also unrealistic, nothing works like clockwork unless a clock. Through this realization, we must then anticipate and expect a collision of varying magnitude in our living, and unsurprisingly, our wits are the only safety gear we have, with experiences of self and others as emotional band-aids. Some forces would absolutely displace us, some would deflect, and some we would evade but nonetheless they will come.

What happens when a force that changes your life comes your way. How prepared are you to embark on a journey to the unknown? Although incalculable, the most life-changing moments happen in the twinkle of an eye, and these unprecedented happenings often have the most lasting effect on us.

We are all life forces exerting our influence on one another, attracting and repelling in Brownian motion, like celestial bodies we alter atmospheres, so what force are you? When you come in contact with another person what kind of forces would be impacting? Negative or positive? We encounter mundane forces daily, and they barely rock our boats but then like the super orb in a video game, some forces launch you right into your utopia, a new level of awakening and you forever become bound to that moment.

2023 is one of those years that has made me realize the power of meeting the right force. Not to sound hackneyed, but it doesn't merely knock you off your feet, no, it does something much more elaborate, it uproots you and repositions you on a pedestal of fulfillment that one could never have worked hard enough to earn. As Darth Vader would say, the force is strong with this one!

In the coming year, my solemn counsel would be to assess and recalibrate the type of force you exert. Destructive forces leave a trail of nothingness while constructive ones generate a chain reaction that culminates into something beautiful. Humans are the most intriguing creatures on the planet, complex, and yet simple. Together we are limitless. Be grateful, careful, and jealously in love with the people you've come to know and who have stayed in your life.

It has been a privilege and a miracle to have encountered so many constructive forces this year. From those who displaced my gloom with their innocuous smiles, disarming charm, and kindness, illuminating social media posts, to the ones who fed me mind, body, and soul, and those who indulged me in the warm embrace of their arms and ambiance of wisdom, that helped me grow spiritually and intellectually. It has been a series of fortunate events. And like a pinball, the flippers of fate have knocked me to a new summit of happiness.

A message from my tea bag at the year's beginning went 'to be remembered leaving nothing but love behind'... I'm taking this into the new year.
